ABOUT US Vision
The vision of Novocarbo is to remove 100 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere every year in order to tackle one of the most important topics of today's world: climate change.
What Novocarbo does
Novocarbo is one of the biggest producers, retailers and refiners of biochar and thereby also one of the biggest Carbon Removal companies in Europe.
We are delivering to customers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Scandinavia and work closely with well-known multinational corporations to reduce their respective carbon footprints through long-term CO2 sequestration.
Why biochar and how does CO2-sequestration work
On the basis of highly innovative pyrolysis technology, large amounts of biogenic residuals (plant residuals) are converted into biochar. Through the pyrolysis process, the carbon content of the biomass is bound in the biochar. Usually, this carbon content would flow back into the atmosphere through burning or decomposition. Through biochar, this process is mitigated and the release of CO2 in the atmosphere is prevented for hundreds of years.
What do we do with our produced biochar
Our biochar is applied in the carbon farming context, for soil and substrate production and as an additive in building materials such as concrete and plastic in order to permanently sequester as much CO2 from the atmosphere as possible. In addition to that, we are consulting several multinational corporations on collaborative Circular Economy projects that will sustainably reduce their CO2 footprint and support them to reach their Net Zero goals. We engage in applied research in the field of Net Emission Technologies (NETs) and thereby drive towards our goal of sequestering over 100 million tons of CO2 every year.
We need you on board
To strengthen our team and push faster towards our Carbon Removal mission, we are searching for new team members to start working with us as soon as possible.
